About the IS4H Bahamas Steering Committee

Overview

The Ministry of Health and Wellness established a National IS4H Steering Committee and Technical Committee to ensure coordination and collaboration among national stakeholders and partners. The IS4H Steering Committee provides strategic guidance and facilitates organizational collaboration and support for the activities and products identified in the IS4H Bahamas Plan of Action.

Technical Committees

The IS4H Technical Committees provide technical advice and guidance to the IS4H Steering Committee, and guide the execution of technical activities and products, such as a national health information exchange architecture and IT standards, data governance and standards, policy development and alignment, and change management to support digital health transformation of the health system.

Data Governance Technical Committee (DGTC)

The purpose of the DGTC is to provide technical leadership and recommendations on information management strategies, policies, and standards for interoperable and interconnected systems, data governance, and electronic health records. It also advises on IS4H structures, communications, knowledge management, emergency response roles, and engagement with academic and scientific communities.

Membership: Members are appointed by the IS4H Steering Committee and include representatives from the following organizations:

Digital Transformation Technical Committee (DTTC)

The DTTC provides technical leadership and recommendations on legislation, regulations, international alignment, resources, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic vision. It also focuses on digital health, knowledge networks, human resource capacity, open government, and eGovernment strategies.

Membership: Members are appointed by the IS4H Steering Committee and include representatives from the following organizations:

Information Technology Technical Committee (ITTC)

The ITTC provides national technical leadership and recommendations on IT infrastructure, strategies, platforms, and standards that support interconnected systems. It also advises on software, hardware, cybersecurity, and facilities that enable IT-enabled healthcare services.

Membership: Members are appointed by the IS4H Steering Committee and include representatives from the following organizations:

Frequency of Meetings

  • Each Technical Committee meets a minimum of six times per fiscal year or more frequently as called by the Chair to fulfill its responsibilities.
